Had an illuminating and excellent conversation with a friend about my poetry, and among other things, the fact that even though the previous one
posted ( https://nbtlistening.in/2023/07/30/two-gloriously-romantic-idiots-arguing-and-making-out/ ) is from very long ago
the themes and the romantic scrapes the characters get into have remained constant. That is possibly true, BUT I think, on the whole
My ‘newer’ stuff may have more ‘acceptance’ or ‘calm’ for want of better descriptions, in them.
They can still get quite crazy at times ha ha (and dark oh yes)
This one came about one night in the middle of a bad dose of flu.
If I start to lose my mind
Come visit me
Tell me lovely lies
(or better still, share a secret)
Let me think
I am seducing your intellect
With my
(half formed new ramble of a poem)
Poison my tea
Then snuggle close
Let me drift off listening to
A long involved story full of ‘what Ifs ‘
Then pretend to sleep so that
I can fade away
Listening to you breathe .
