An ongoing project in which i will attempt to write 100 poems showcasing short ‘snapshots’ from the past.

Once when just a kid, running to catch the bus,
I yelled out the words to every tune from my parents copy
Of the Bee Gees greatest hits
I could see it, there, on top of the hill
Less than a song away
The thrill of possibly missing it
Driving me on
Alive and immortal
A negative outcome
Simply impossible
Later, my band of fellow rascals
Would wait for the traffic light to change
Red, against us
Then shoot across the road
Ignoring sense and sanity and
Angry cars hooting
After this start
School was delightfully mundane
Safe and boring
And the flawed fragile teachers
Dull and vindictive
Had no impact at all.
