February 3, 1947 – January 23, 2024 … Anyone who knows me, knows well that i am and have always been a huge Melanie (Safka) fan. Three of her tunes (one a ginormous hit the other two lesser known deep cuts) are forever placed in my fave tunes of all time) Brand New Key which i performed semi nude for a play written by the esteemed Chetanya Alexander (times were weird back then alright!) then there was her sublime cover of California Dreaming, and finally ‘Chart Song’ which i took as a sort of mantra ”Well your chart says you’re restless/with a long way to go” Thank you for the music!
