Re the way the US election is going…
My kid has taught me (there is SO much to learn from our children, we just have to be prepared break our bad habits and move forward with them) that calling people stupid is reductive and kind of missing the point of WHY humans do the things they do.
It is also an easy way out for us, if we think a person is stupid for voting for someone so lacking in any decency, a wannabe dictator, then that kind of excuses them.. ‘‘They don’t know any better”.
That is not true.
They vote for who they vote for because they are not comfortable with strong women, people of colour, people with a sexual orientation that is different to theirs. They vote, on purpose, out of fear and hatred, their hatred is the point.
They want everyone to look like them, think like them, never moving forward and also looking back to a world that didn’t actually exist.
It’s disappointing for sure and somehow the rest of us will have to move on and perhaps not care as..
They destroy themselves.
