  1. A beautiful, hopeful image. Lovely poem, nbtlisteningin. I’m so glad you noticed this flower. This is a true definition of courage. My favourite lines:

    “wind bruised winter”

    the letter “Dreaming of flying through the night onwards
    To the lover it was meant for”

    and that final stanza:

    “The sun sneaks out from behind the waiting storm
    The flower bends
    A fraction of a fraction
    Up.”

    1. Thank you! there actually was another line after ‘up’ gilding the lilly as it were, luckily a wise person noticed and said, very matter of factually ‘lose it’ and lo.. poem became far better

  2. This can be interpreted in so many different ways because of the symbol used, but it’s a message of hope to me, and hope is what we need.
